Certification track
Lean Six Sigma certifications
Lean Six Sigma pairs Lean methods for removing waste with Six Sigma's data-driven approach to quality. Start with the free White Belt and move up when you're ready. Each certification is earned by passing an online, written exam.
What's a Pro exam? After you pass a written exam, you can book an optional online interview with a Fifth Sierra consultant and share how you've applied your skills at home, at work or in your community.
Certificate track
Completion certificates
Not everyone needs a certification. Sometimes you just need the skills. These courses teach practical problem solving inspired by Lean Six Sigma, with no statistics, math or exams.
Both courses are online and self-paced, designed and delivered by a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

What's the difference between a certification and a certificate?
A certification is a Lean Six Sigma credential (White, Yellow or Green Belt) that you earn by passing an online, written exam. A certificate shows you completed a process improvement course. Certificate courses have no statistics, math or exams, and they don't include Lean Six Sigma certification.
Do certifications expire?
No. Fifth Sierra certifications never expire, and there are no renewal fees.
Do I have to start with White Belt?
No, but it's free and a good first step. The White Belt course is recommended before Yellow Belt, and the Yellow Belt course before Green Belt. Neither is required.
Can I skip the course and just take the exam?
For White Belt, yes. If you already know Lean Six Sigma, you can skip the course and go straight to the certification exam.
What is a Pro exam?
An optional online interview with a Fifth Sierra consultant, taken after you pass the written exam, where you share how you've applied your skills. It runs 15 minutes for White Belt, 20 for Yellow Belt and 30 for Green Belt.
